Cattle & breeding

Built for the pasture and the show ring.

Our breeding program brings together Maine-Anjou, Shorthorn, Simmental and club calf genetics, with a focus on sound cattle that are practical to raise and manageable to show.

  • Our focus: structure, balance, disposition and maternal strength.
  • Our approach: artificial insemination and embryo transfer within the breeding program.
  • Your next step: tell us your goals and ask about current breeding-stock options.

In 1921, Joseph and Cecilia Midler purchased the original property and began a dairy farm, managing it through the 1950s. Paul and Josephine carried on, milking 60 to 80 head a day into the early 1990s.

In 1992, Paul and Donna transitioned the herd from dairy to beef, embracing high-performance breeding and genetics. By 1996 the program had evolved toward Simmental, Maine-Anjou, and club calf breeding — a focus that has earned recognition from local county fairs to major events in Harrisburg, Louisville, and Columbus.

Today, Evan and Sussan continue the family legacy, using artificial insemination and embryo transfer programs. In 2025 they welcomed their daughter Giuliana — the fifth generation raised on this land.
