Our farm, located in Avella, Pennsylvania, at the foot of the Appalachian Mountains , operates nearly 500 acres spanning five generations of family heritage. Established in 1921, the operation began when Joseph and Cecilia Midler purchased the original property and began their dairy farm, managing it until the 1950s. Paul and Josephine carried on and expanding it through the early 1990s, milking on average 60-80 head a day.

In 1992, Paul and Donna expanded the footprint while transitioning the operation from a traditional dairy herd to a beef cattle program. They quickly embraced high-performance breeding and genetics to transform the old dairy herd into a quality beef herd. Through artificial insemination, they introduced top elite Blonde d’Aquitaine and Charolais sires into the largely Holstein base. Just a few years later, in 1996, the focus evolved again toward Simmental, Maine-Anjou, and club calf breeding. Over the last 30 years, our cattle have earned recognition in show rings from local county fairs to major events in Harrisburg, Louisville, and Columbus, reflecting generations of careful selection and breeding for both performance and style.

Our females carry the classic club calf look — powerful, balanced, and eye-catching — with a deep body, square hip, wide base, and strong, level top. Yet, they remain excellent milkers, a testament to the lasting influence of our dairy roots.

Today, Evan and Sussan continue the family legacy, operating and expanding the farm while integrating modern AI and embryo transfer programs to maintain and improve quality and consistency. In 2025, they welcomed their daughter, Giuliana, who represents the fifth generation raised on this land — a living reminder of a century-long family tradition rooted in agriculture, integrity, and passion for producing top-quality cattle.
